League Structure and Values:

Our league structure is designed to nurture talent and offer a platform for skill development. Teams compete passionately in a balanced and competitive environment. We adhere to the rules and regulations of FIFA, CSA, and ASA to ensure fairness and integrity in the game.

EFL is committed to making futsal accessible to all. Our pricing is designed to offer value for teams and affordability for attendees. We provide high-quality game balls and encourage responsible equipment management. Our online presence keeps you updated with league details, exciting matches, and captivating stories.

New this year

Serie A and Serie B

New this year, the league will have two series: Serie A and Serie B. Both leagues will have playoffs with the same structure, where the top six teams will qualify.

Only Serie A teams will qualify for provincials. Serie B teams will compete to qualify for Serie A in the next year. Any club coming from outside Edmonton will qualify for provincials through their own district. However, if they qualify for playoffs, they must attend. If a team does not attend playoffs, they will be disqualified and banned from the league.

For this season, we will expand the league. Sixteen male teams and twelve female teams will participate in Serie A of the Edmonton Futsal League. We have six spots on the male side and three spots on the female side for new clubs. It’s not first-come, first-served. If there are more teams interested than spots available, the league will organize a pre-season tournament to determine which clubs will take the Serie A spots. A team can sign up for Serie A or go directly to Serie B.

Serie B will be determined by the number of teams signing up, but it will function exactly like Serie A, with playoffs.

A club cannot have two teams in the same series, so if a Serie B champion club already has a team in Serie A, that team won’t move up.

The league will have promotion and relegation for the first time. The bottom three teams in Serie A will be relegated to Serie B, and the top finalists of the Serie B playoff and the third-place team will move up to Serie A.
